Description
Rose Amelia is an elegant and spacious 63ft Dutch Barge, measuring 63ft in length by 6ft 10in in beam, featuring a practical removable wooden wheelhouse and an enclosed bow. Expertly built by M & D Engineering, she combines distinctive classic styling with thoughtful design throughout. She has recently benefitted from maintenance work to the hull including 2pac epoxy blacking in June 2026, alongside further care and attention including the engine space being stripped and painted and the wheelhouse stripped and re-oiled in 2025, presenting herself in excellent order and ready to enjoy. She is currently moored in Gloucestershire, awaiting your viewing.
Constructed with a steel hull of flat bottom design, she offers reassuring strength and stability. The cabin sides are of painted ply, well-insulated with sprayfoam for excellent thermal efficiency, while top-opening windows bring both light and ventilation into the living spaces. Throughout the interior, beautiful solid oak flooring runs beneathfoot, adding a touch of quality and warmth to every room.
Under power, she is fitted with a dependable Isuzu 35hp four-cylinder diesel engine, equipped with keel cooling and a PRM gearbox, delivering smooth and reliable performance. Her diesel fuel tank holds approximately 250 litres, while the fresh water tank has a capacity of around 330 litres — well-proportioned supplies for both inland cruising and longer stays aboard.
Warmth and comfort are carefully considered aboard Rose Amelia. Heating is provided by an attractive Morso Squirrel solid fuel stove, complemented by an Autoterm ducted hot air diesel heating system for all-year comfort. Hot water is readily available via a combination calorifier and immersion heater.
The electrical system provides both 12v and 240v power, supported by a Sterling 1500w inverter. Power management is further enhanced by a Victron solar setup incorporating two solar panels, alongside four batteries — one starter and three leisure — making her well-suited for extended periods away from shore power.
The galley is fully equipped with a cooker and a 12v fridge-freezer with separate freezer compartment, capable of running on gas, 12v or 240v power for convenience wherever you are. Accommodation is arranged to comfortably sleep two in a fixed double bedroom, designed to feel spacious and restful.
The walk-through bathroom is conveniently laid out and fitted with a shower and vanity basin, plus a compost separator toilet — with pipework already in place should you wish to install a pump-out toilet in the future.
Additional features include a side hatch, while her Boat Safety Certificate remains valid until 2028 and the hull was last blacked with 2pac epoxy in June 2026. Beautifully built, thoughtfully equipped and meticulously maintained, Rose Amelia is a truly outstanding Dutch Barge ready for her next chapter.
There is also the potential for the mooring to be taken over by the new owner.
