We’re not a corporate company, we’re a family run, customer focused business.
All we do is sell boats, we don’t own marinas, workshops etc, which means that our sole focus is getting boats sold! However, we have built strong relationships with businesses nationwide enabling us to assist with your moorings, any work you want carried out on a boat, or even if you want someone to move your boat for you – we’re here to help.
We have been operating for 21 years with the owners of the company boating all their lives, and still boat today! Therefore, we have a wealth of experience to offer in assisting boat buyers and sellers through the sales process.
Our trading name has changed to Nationwide Boat Sales from Great Haywood Boat Sales in the last couple of years, although this will still remain our registered company name. This change came as a result of a huge demand for us to sell boats further afield from customers, so the decision was made to rebrand as Nationwide Boat Sales.
Our head office is at Fradley Junction in Staffordshire and we sell in excess of 350 nationwide every year. We can sell your boat regardless of if you are living aboard, continuously cruising, or even if you are looking to sell from a marina that we don’t operate from.
Our team work hard to establish what a buyer is looking for, rather than buyers travelling all over the country looking at lots of different boats that may not be suitable. By finding out what a buyers requirements are, and getting to know customers, many of our boats are sold before they are even listed online! This saves buyers hours and often days of travelling around the country trying to find a boat. This also means that if we have got a viewing on a sellers boat, it’s a genuine buyer and not just someone who wants to have a look around.
Unlike many corporate companies, we have a dedicated sales team who work with buyers from initial contact, right through to completion. We accompany viewings (subject to terms and conditions), rather than just handing out keys, as we appreciate that many boats are someones home, have been treasured over the years, or are selling due to circumstances, not because they’ve fallen out of love with boating. It also means that we can assist buyers with any questions that they might have during the viewing.
We work hard to ensure quality viewings, rather than focusing on the quantity of viewings. After all, you only need one buyer.
Our team are constantly looking at how we can make the process of buying and selling easier for our customers. Over the past few years we’ve introduced 3D tours of every boat that we have on brokerage (subject to terms and conditions). 3D tours have been an invaluable tool for buyers who can take a virtual walk around a boat before physically stepping on board. This has given buyers confidence that when they actually get on board they know exactly what to expect, therefore making the decision to purchase. As a seller, your boat is being showcased with a modern way of viewing so buyers get to know your boat, the layout, can take measurements and really get a feel for the boat before. This is also incorporated within the marketing videos that are displayed across social media platforms. Here’s just one example . . . .
