Our World is an incredible 60ft Serial Hybrid Cruiser, beautifully built by Swan Boat Builders and designed to redefine what life aboard can be. Measuring 60ft in length by 6ft 10in in beam with a cruiser stern and enclosed bow, she offers the very best of traditional narrowboat styling paired with truly revolutionary engineering. At the heart of this exceptional narrowboat is a highly sophisticated 48V serial hybrid electric propulsion and energy system, designed to provide quiet electric cruising alongside excellent off-grid capability.
Her hull is constructed from robust steel to a 10/6/4 specification, formed with a flat bottom and built for enduring strength and stability. Inside, the cabin sides are finished in attractive tongue-and-groove, fully insulated with sprayfoam, and fitted with double-glazed windows that flood the interior with natural light. Underfoot, luxury vinyl tile flooring runs throughout — elegant, comfortable and beautifully practical.
Propulsion is provided exclusively by a Beta Marine 14kW E-Drive electric motor. Unlike a conventional or parallel hybrid installation, the diesel engine does not mechanically drive the propeller — the propeller is always driven electrically, providing smooth, quiet propulsion with instant torque. A substantial bank of 24 Leoch lead-carbon batteries provides the energy storage for the 48V system, delivering approximately 38.4kWh of nominal energy capacity. For extended cruising and independent charging, a Beta Marine 8.5kVA diesel generator produces electricity for the onboard system and battery charging, effectively acting as a range extender when solar or shore power is unavailable. Solar generation provides a further source of renewable energy from six panels delivering 1.62kW, managed through a Victron SmartSolar MPPT controller. The entire system is monitored and managed through a Victron Cerbo GX smart control platform, giving you comprehensive insights and — with internet connectivity — remote monitoring and even remote generator starting from your phone. A Victron Quattro 5kW inverter/charger sits at the heart of the domestic AC system, while the high-capacity 48V architecture also powers the Vetus Bow Pro bow thruster. In short, this is much more than simply an electrically propelled narrowboat — it combines silent cruising, substantial storage, solar generation, diesel range extension, powerful domestic capability and intelligent control into one comprehensively integrated system.
Warmth and hot water are provided through a calorifier, immersion heater or Webasto, giving you flexible, reliable supply however you are cruising. Central heating is provided by a Webasto Thermostat Top Evo 5kW system, managed effortlessly through a Nest smart controller, while a traditional Refleks diesel stove adds a wonderful, welcoming focal point to the living space — combining modern efficiency with classic charm.
The galley is fitted to an exceptionally high standard, featuring a Neff electric oven and sleek Smeg ceramic hob, a separate Fridgemaster fridge and freezer, an integrated Hisense washing machine, a dedicated wine cooler, and an elegant 4-in-1 boiling water tap — all powered effortlessly by the boat’s generous electrical capacity, so you never have to compromise on the comforts of home.
Accommodation is arranged to sleep four in comfort, comprising a fixed double bedroom and a versatile sofa bed, ideal for couples, family or guests. The walk-through bathroom features a refreshing shower, vanity basin, and an eco-friendly compoost toilet — thoughtfully designed and practical in every respect.
She has been meticulously maintained throughout: hull blacked with high-quality 2-pack epoxy in 2024, Boat Safety Certificate valid until January 2028, and RCD compliant. Additional thoughtful features include a protective pram cover, two side hatches for light and ventilation, and a galvanic isolator protecting her systems.
