Description
Introducing “Johncy,” a stunning 56ft Cruiser narrowboat, expertly built by Harborough Marine. This vessel exudes style from its stern to its bow, offering a unique charm for canal living.
Johncy boasts a robust construction with a steel plating specification of 10/6/4 and a flat-bottom hull. At the heart of Johncy is its reliable Isuzu 42hp engine, paired with a PRM 150 gearbox. For hot water and heating, it features a Calorifier system, though the vessel has a Webasto central heating system it is not in use. A solid fuel stove is also present, and the boat has a substantial 500-litre water tank capacity.
The electrical system is equipped with both 12v and 240v capabilities, a Victron 12/500 Pure Sine Wave Inverter. Power is supplied by one 12v starter battery and four 110amp leisure batteries. Additionally, four solar panels are installed, managed by a Victron battery monitor. A Beaudens portable power station (166wh/52000mAh) is also included.
The galley is fitted with a Stoves 500 DIT cooker and a Starling fridge/freezer, operating on 12v. For convenience, a Berkey Water Filter is also part of the galley setup. Accommodation on board includes space for four berths, with a fixed double bed or day bed and an additional sofa bed. The bathroom features a Porta Potti toilet, a shower, and a vanity basin, with a walkthrough design.
Johncy’s vessel history indicates a Boat Safety Certificate valid until November 2028 and has been blacked in May 2024. An additional feature is a sliding bus window in the kitchen.
Currently moored in Gloucestershire, there is the possibility of a mooring on the beautiful Stroudwater Canal, subject to separate negotiation.
A recent out-of-water survey is available for viewing and highlights a number of recommendations, including hull welding, corrosion treatment and general maintenance items. Prospective purchasers should satisfy themselves as to the extent and cost of any works required, which have been reflected in the asking price.
