Description

Okapi is a 57ft Cruiser Stern narrowboat, built by Floating Homes. With a traditional layout, and fixed double berth, she offers plenty of potential for someone looking for a boat they can put their own stamp on.

Entering from the cruiser stern, steps lead down into the accommodation, which is arranged in a traditional layout. The interior has a predominantly timber finish and, while requiring updating and improvement, provides a good starting point for a new owner looking to create a boat to their own taste.

The bedroom provides a fixed double berth, making Okapi a comfortable two-berth boat without the need to make up a bed each evening. Moving through the boat is an off-corridor bathroom equipped with a pump-out toilet, shower and vanity basin.

The galley offers worktop and storage space and is equipped with a cooker and fridge, along with the useful addition of a washing machine. Continuing forward is the saloon, providing space for freestanding furniture and the opportunity for a new owner to redesign and furnish the living area to suit their requirements. Glazed doors at the bow lead out onto the front well deck.

Heating is provided by a Webasto diesel central heating system, while hot water is supplied via a calorifier, with heating from the Webasto system or an immersion heater when connected to shore power.

Her electrical system includes 12v, 240v shore power and a Mastervolt 2kW inverter, supported by one starter and four leisure batteries. Power is provided by a four-cylinder Barrus Shire diesel engine.

Okapi has been surveyed and works have subsequently been carried out, including some areas of overplating. She was also blacked in 2026 and fitted with new anodes. Her Boat Safety Certificate is valid until 2028.

Okapi represents an opportunity for someone looking for a 57ft narrowboat project with recent hull works already undertaken. She does require further work and refurbishment, particularly internally, and her condition is reflected in the way she is being marketed. Please watch the accompanying walkthrough video carefully before booking a viewing, as this provides the best representation of her visual current condition 👇
