Sunset is a 43ft reliable narrowboat, built in 2008 by Dave Thomas to a robust specification. Originally operated as part of the Rose Narrowboats hire fleet, she has benefited from consistent professional maintenance throughout her life, making her a sound choice for both leisure cruising and comfortable living aboard. Measuring 43 feet in length with a beam of 6 feet 10 inches, she features a strong steel hull with plating specification of 10/6/5/4 and a flat-bottom design, built to handle the UK canal network with confidence. The interior is finished with durable vinyl flooring, ash ply cabin sides, and polystyrene insulation, while top-opening windows provide good ventilation and natural light.
Power is supplied by a trusted four-cylinder Isuzu 42hp diesel engine, fitted with keel cooling and paired with a PRM 150 gearbox for smooth and dependable performance. Fuel capacity stands at approximately 30 gallons, and the generous water tank holds up to 150 gallons, allowing for longer trips between stops. Heating and hot water are well catered for via a Hurricane system combined with a calorifier, ensuring you stay warm and have plenty of hot water even in cooler weather. The electrical system includes both 12-volt and 240-volt supplies, supported by a 1000-watt inverter, along with one starter battery and two leisure batteries to run your onboard equipment.
The galley is practical and functional, fitted with a Stoves 500 DIT cooker, an Inlander fridge/freezer running on 12 volts, and easy-to-maintain laminate worktops offering plenty of preparation space. Accommodation comfortably sleeps up to three people, featuring a fixed double bed plus an additional single berth created from the dinette area. The bathroom is fully equipped with a pump-out toilet, a shower, and a vanity basin, completing all the essential facilities you need on board.
Ready to cruise, Sunset holds a Boat Safety Certificate valid until May 2028 and was last blacked in June 2025, confirming she has been kept in good order. She is currently moored in Warwickshire and available to view by appointment only.
